My one friend showed me this video a while ago. It talks a lot about human vs. nature connections, but there are some references to relationships between humans and how the world around us keeps changing.
I'm not sure entirely if this video is really relevant with what we are learning this week in soc 101, but for some reason what we have been talking about made me think of it. It's definitely breaking a social norm and breaking all of our expectations that we have of mentally or physically disabled people in society. If anything, it's just kind of a "pick-me-up" video so enjoy it!
this is a music video of T-Pain and Taylor Swift doing a rap together called Thug Life. I thought it was interesting because it represents a clash of two completely different contemporary cultures in America today. If that doesn't do it for you, its just hilarious to see Taylor Swift trying to act Ghetto.
this video is another one by daft punk but i think it shows how people are trying to fit in or be different and how our society rejects them. very interesting.
Heard about this video on my drive to class this morning. Thought is was pretty cool how this one guy turned a crap situation into something to smile about. Never have I been stuck in an airport and happy about it. This video makes me want to have more canceled flight, if and only if this guy is around! It also shows how music is something that unites all of us. Hope you enjoy!
I think this video clip is interesting because it shows stereotyping and the difference between races and Weird Al is doing something that most people are afraid to do.
I chose this video because I think it represents the majority of our generations music taste. The video has a mixture of popular songs throughout the year 2009.
I think this video shows how music influences people. Shortly after the first video came out everyone else started recording themselves do it. I think it shows how people in society want to fit in. Enjoy;)
I chose this video because what started out as such a small thing in the music world it has grown all over the nation and is getting more populare everyday.
I chose this video because the idea of paying forward may only begin with one person, but it will effect an entire society, if said society chooses to participate. This actually reminded me of first Chapter in the book by Shirky. How one person got an entire society -- an entire group globally to participate in the one act for a common goal.
This video is very interseting because it shows that sometimes people can't see what is right in front of them. They focus on the goal of counting the number of passes and not the whole picture. This relates because the illusion relates to psychology and psychology often ties into sociology. Showing reasons why people make certain decision or see things a certain way.
I chose this video because it combines two totally different musical genres and creates one unified and catchy song. This music video represents two different tastes of music along with the two different groups that listen to the different genres.
I am sure everyone knows this song and at least knows a line or two from it. The whole song and video is about being on a boat. I feel that if this had been a song a decade or two ago it would not be a slight bit popular. It really does show how society and what people listen to or are entertained by has changed.
This is a very interesting video of a underground rapper with potential to make it big. In this decade kids of all ages are able to show there talent though the world wide web, and this is a great example.
This is a funny video of a little kid dancing. It shows how media and technology influence everyone, even children because he's trying to mimic moves that he's probably seen on tv.
This is Thursdays list but I thought of a funny video. Its a collection of a few famous viral vidoes done in autotune ( the voice changer).. its pretty funny.
I second the video suggested by kyiadicicco, as it was the video I planned to suggest. It shows the trends in popular musical taste in 2009 and the mashup was really well done!
This is a really cool video on a car commercial. A choir makes the ENTIRE sound for the commercial, its pretty intense how the human voice can be manipulated.
I think this is a funny video that can be an example of breaking a social norm. It sort of reminds me of the banana experiment video we watched in class.
This is a cool mash-up music video using popular songs in 2009. I thought it was neat and thought the class would enjoy it too!

How about the evolution of dancing through out the decades. Seeing the change in styles and types of music.
